Grade Seven Teacher – 1.0 FTE

Pacific Academy is requesting applications from qualified individuals for a full-time grade seven teaching position commencing August 28, 2017.  This position is a temporary one-year position, due to a maternity leave, but may become permanent.

Qualifications:

Candidates should:

  • Hold a valid British Columbia teaching certificate
  • Possess an understanding of and commitment to Christian Education
  • Actively and personally support a Pentecostal/Charismatic statement of faith
  • Be a team player
  • Be fluent in oral and written English
  • Have knowledge of and/or experience in teaching Core French.

Experience and interest in outdoor education would be an asset.

PE Teacher – .79 FTE

Pacific Academy is requesting applications from qualified individuals for a .79 FTE teaching position in our Primary School starting August 28, 2017.  Main duties include teaching PE to Kindergarten, grade one, and grade two students.

Qualifications:

Candidates must:

  • Hold a valid British Columbia teaching certificate
  • Possess an understanding of and commitment to Christian Education
  • Actively and personally support a Pentecostal/Charismatic statement of faith
  • Have experience in athletics, especially with young children
  • Be a team player
  • Be fluent in oral and written English

Junior Kindergarten (Preschool) Instructor

Pacific Academy is seeking applications from qualified individuals for an ECE Instructor position commencing September 2017.  This position will likely be 70% FTE, but may become full-time if enrollment increases.

Candidates must:

  • Hold a valid ECE certificate
  • Be prepared to submit to a Criminal Record Check
  • Hold a valid First Aid  certificate
  • Actively and personally support a Pentecostal/Charismatic statement of faith
  • Be friendly, inviting, self-motivated, even-tempered, and adaptable
  • Be fluent in oral and written English

Main Duties:

  • Oversee the day to day running of the Junior Kindergarten classroom
  • Oversee the setting up and clearing away of all activities and equipment
  • Ensure high standards of hygiene and safety
  • Maintain confidentiality of any information received concerning the children
  • Actively encourage children’s progress in all areas of development through interaction and extension of play activities
  • Lead small and large group activities in art, music, literature, and other circle time activities
  • Work as part of a team and support colleagues

High School Music Teacher – 1.0 FTE

Pacific Academy is requesting applications from qualified individuals for a full-time high school music teaching position commencing August 28, 2017.

Qualifications:

Candidates should:

  • Hold a valid British Columbia teaching certificate
  • Possess an understanding of and commitment to Christian Education
  • Actively and personally support a Pentecostal/Charismatic statement of faith
  • Demonstrate knowledge/education/experience in the field of instrumental music for concert bands, jazz ensembles, and worship teams
  • Be a team player
  • Be fluent in oral and written English
  • Ability to work with a strings orchestra would be an asset
