Teacher on Call (TOC)

Accounting Manager: Part-Time

We welcome applications for a part time Accounting Manager position in the Finance department at Pacific Academy.  The Accounting Manager oversees daily operations of the Finance department and reports directly to the Director of Finance.

Qualifications:

Candidates must:

  • Actively and personally support a Pentecostal statement of faith
  • Hold an accounting designation or have extensive working experience
  • Be experienced in fund accounting systems and accounting for charities
  • Possess strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Be competent in technology applications
  • Be professional and discreet
  • Demonstrate strong collaborative and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Financial statements for multiple societies along with other financial reports
  • Preparation of Annual Audit binder and working papers
  • Preparation of T3010 for multiple entities
  • Multiple month end working papers and reconciliations
  • General Ledger Journal Entries – Recoding, entering, and posting transactions
  • Bank Deposits – Entering and posting deposit transactions provided by A/R
  • Posting of sub-ledger transactions into General Ledger
  • Recording Bank charges, stop payments and voiding A/P cheques
  • Bank reconciliations for multiple bank accounts
  • Preparation and posting of monthly accruals
  • Sending Principals and staff members financial summary reports
  • Monthly bank account interest entries, Intercompany balancing and transfers
  • Credit card reconciliations
  • Quarterly GST rebate submission
  • Lead role in Annual Audit
  • Other financial analysis as requested from the Director of Finance

The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of Finance and Accounting staff.  This is a part time position that will require 25 to 30 hours per week.

Grade Seven Teacher – 1.0 FTE

Pacific Academy is requesting applications from qualified individuals for a full-time grade seven teaching position commencing August 28, 2017.  This position is a temporary one-year position, due to a maternity leave, but may become permanent.

Qualifications:

Candidates should:

  • Hold a valid British Columbia teaching certificate
  • Possess an understanding of and commitment to Christian Education
  • Actively and personally support a Pentecostal/Charismatic statement of faith
  • Be a team player
  • Be fluent in oral and written English
  • Have knowledge of and/or experience in teaching Core French.

Experience and interest in outdoor education would be an asset.

PE Teacher – .79 FTE

Pacific Academy is requesting applications from qualified individuals for a .79 FTE teaching position in our Primary School starting August 28, 2017.  Main duties include teaching PE to Kindergarten, grade one, and grade two students.

Qualifications:

Candidates must:

  • Hold a valid British Columbia teaching certificate
  • Possess an understanding of and commitment to Christian Education
  • Actively and personally support a Pentecostal/Charismatic statement of faith
  • Have experience in athletics, especially with young children
  • Be a team player
  • Be fluent in oral and written English
